John Hobbie is a fine artist and set designer holding a BFA in Painting and Drawing and an MFA in Set Design. He works full time as a set designer in the Tri-state area and is a member of the Greater Philadelphia Aliance, The New Jersey Theatre Alliance, and the United Scenic Artists of America, Local 829 NYC.

In the four years that John has been designing sets he consistantly recieves positive reviews and awards including: Best Creative Contribution to Set Design by the Dallas/Ft. Worth's Critics Forum, Best Set Design at the Texas Educational Theatre Association, and the Taubmen Award for Design Excellance. Most recently, John has been nominated for the Dallas Column Award for Best Set Design in a Musical.
